Overview
The Drop Inn is a large catered chalet-style hotel with its very own café/bar in the basement. Located on the edge of the Vanoise national park in the French Alps in the the world-famous ski resort of Courchevel. Trails and lifts start from outside the door with a variety of terrain ranging from forest trails to high mountain paths over 3000 metres.
Le Praz in Courchevel is a hidden gem set away from purpose-built resorts in the Three Valleys (Les Trois Vallées). Served by a chairlift and gondola, Le Praz is a traditional alpine village with a local patisserie, tabac, bars and scattering of family-run businesses which makes it a place to relax and fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the mountains. With its cobbled streets and Savoyard character, Le Praz is the prettiest of the four Courchevel villages. During the summer and winter season, there are free buses linking the Courchevel villages and the Praz telecabine lift takes you directly to the centre of Courchevel 1850 in less than ten minutes. More importantly for us runners, Le Praz is on the edge of Vanoise, France’s first national park, famous for glaciers, high mountains, alpine lakes, ibex, chamois, marmots, eagles and no human habitation except for the mountain refuges. This is some of the best mountain running in the world.
